Work With Me

Tech without the technobabble.

Put your technology in front of people who actually want to understand it

WrongWords On Porpoise creates approachable technology content for people who want to use technology without needing a dictionary of technical jargon beside them.

I’m Martyn, the creator behind the channel, and I work with technology brands, manufacturers, retailers and service providers to create useful, entertaining content that shows products being used in the real world.

If you have a product or service that fits the WrongWords On Porpoise audience, I’d love to hear about it.

Let’s talk about your campaign →

Who watches WrongWords On Porpoise?

My content is aimed at beginners, enthusiasts and technophobes who want technology explained in straightforward language.

  • Smart homes and Home Assistant
  • Consumer technology
  • Home networking
  • IT and security
  • Cameras and home security
  • Smart switches, sensors and automation
  • Gadgets and connected devices
  • Installation guides and tutorials
  • Product reviews and real-world testing

Rather than simply reading specifications from a box, I try to show viewers what products are actually like to install, configure and live with — including when things don’t quite go according to plan.

Ways we can work together

Dedicated sponsored videos

A video built around your product or service, giving me enough time to properly explain what it does, demonstrate it and show viewers why they might be interested in it.

Sponsored integrations

If your product fits naturally into another WrongWords On Porpoise video, we can discuss a sponsored segment or integration.

Product reviews

Have an interesting piece of technology you’d like me to test? Products can be supplied for consideration for review or inclusion in future content. Supplying a product does not guarantee positive coverage — I want viewers to know they’re getting my genuine experience.

YouTube Shorts & short-form video

Short-form content can be created around products, interesting features, demonstrations, tips or moments from a larger campaign.

Social media

Campaigns can also include supporting content for platforms such as Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, LinkedIn and X where appropriate.

Website content

Products featured on the channel can also be supported with articles, guides and other content here on onporpoise.co.uk.

Longer-term partnerships

I’m particularly interested in working with brands whose products genuinely fit the channel. If there’s a good match, I’d be happy to discuss longer-term partnerships rather than simply producing a single sponsored video.

I don’t sell opinions

Sponsorship buys content. It doesn’t buy my opinion.

If you’re paying for content, supplying a product or there’s another commercial relationship involved, I’ll disclose that relationship appropriately. I’ll talk about what I like, what I don’t like and anything I think viewers should know before spending their money.

That independence is important to me — and ultimately makes sponsored content more valuable too.

What makes WrongWords On Porpoise different?

I’ve spent around 20 years working in IT. But WrongWords On Porpoise isn’t about demonstrating how many technical terms I know. It’s about doing the opposite.

I explain technology in a way that ordinary people can understand, while still giving technically minded viewers something useful. That means showing the setup, the problems, the mistakes and the solution rather than pretending everything magically worked first time.

Tech without the technobabble.

Let’s work together

Have something interesting?

If you manufacture, sell or represent a technology product or service that could be a good fit for WrongWords On Porpoise, tell me about it.

It helps if you include:

  • What the product or service is
  • A link to the product
  • What type of collaboration you’re interested in
  • Your proposed campaign timing
  • Whether you’re looking for dedicated or integrated content
  • Any specific campaign requirements
  • Your available budget
